Assemblyman Hawley Honored by New York State Farm Bureau

Assemblyman Steve Hawley (R,C-Batavia) recently received the “Friend of the Farm Bureau” honor from the New York State Farm Bureau.

This is not the first time Hawley has been given this honor by the Farm Bureau, as he has consistently been recognized as a “Friend of the Farm Bureau” for his devoted support of New York’s agricultural industry every year he has been a member of the assembly.

“I am truly honored to once again be recognized as a Friend of the Farm Bureau by the New York State Farm Bureau," Hawley said. “As a former farmer and longtime advocate for our agricultural community, I understand firsthand the challenges our farmers face every day. Agriculture is the backbone of our local economy and way of life, and I will continue fighting in Albany to ensure our hardworking farmers have the support they need to succeed for generations to come.”

Prior to his political career, Hawley was the previous owner and operator of Hawley Farms in Batavia while also serving as the President of the Genesee County Farm Bureau, which was founded by his grandfather Warren W. Hawley, Jr. He is currently a member of the Assembly Agriculture Committee and the Task Force on Food, Farm and Nutrition Policy.
