Hawley Recognizes Liberty Pumps for 60 Years of Business

Yesterday, Assemblyman Steve Hawley (R,C–Batavia) recognized Liberty Pumps for its 60 years of innovation, growth and community impact, presenting a formal proclamation honoring the company’s anniversary and its lasting contributions to Western New York.

Founded in 1965 by Fred Cook in Bergen, New York, Liberty Pumps began as a small, single-building operation and has since grown into one of the nation’s leading manufacturers of pumping products for groundwater and wastewater applications in residential and commercial settings.

Hawley highlighted the transformative leadership of Owner Charlie Cook, Fred Cook’s nephew, President and CEO Robyn Brookhart and CFO Dennis Burke, whose long-term vision and strategic direction guided Liberty Pumps through three major facility expansions over the last 25 years. Those expansions significantly increased production capacity, advanced technological capabilities and positioned the company for sustained growth.

Under Cook’s leadership, Liberty Pumps also embraced a people-first model, establishing an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) in 2015 that empowered its workforce to become employee-owners and share directly in the company’s success. Hawley was proud to be able to recognize this homegrown company for its contributions to the region and looks forward to seeing its future expansion and success.

“Liberty Pumps is a true Western New York success story,” said Hawley. “For 60 years, the company has exemplified excellence and integrity while creating good-paying jobs and strengthening our local economy. Through innovation and strategic growth, the Cook family helped transform the regional manufacturing industry and cement Liberty Pumps as a cornerstone of Western New York. I’m proud to honor this remarkable company and the family behind it, and I look forward to seeing the positive impact they will continue to have on our community for years to come.”
