Pheffer Amato Delivers Testimony Regarding the Cross Bay Memorial Bridge to MTA

South Queens, NY On Thursday, September 30, Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato (D-South Queens) delivered testimony at the Central Business District Tolling Program (CBDTP) Public Meeting, hosted by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. CBDTP would charge vehicles that enter or remain in Manhattan’s Central Business District, with the goals of improving air quality, lowering traffic, and helping the MTA improve its transit system.

“If we want to talk about toll equity, we need to start right here in Rockaway. In my district, we have the only intra-borough bridge in New York State,” Pheffer Amato said. “I’m glad that the MTA is discussing this issue, because toll equity has been on the minds of Queens residents for years. The toll on the Cross Bay Veterans Memorial Bridge (CBB) needs to be eliminated immediately, and this should be a top priority of the MTA. ”
