Queens, NY – State Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. and Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato invite everyone out to safely and securely shred their unwanted documents during a paper shredding event in Rockaway next month.

On Sunday, June 6, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., a shredding truck will be at the St. Camillus parking lot, located at 99-15 Rockaway Beach Boulevard, to help constituents shred their documents.

“As elected officials, we know the importance of securely disposing of documents that may have peoples’ personal information on them,” Addabbo said. “That is why these paper shredding events are so important to the community. It allows them to get rid of their sensitive papers and documents, knowing that their personal information will not get out. I want to thank Assemblywoman Pheffer Amato for her partnership on this great event, St. Camillus for allowing us to use their parking lot and USA Shred for providing this much-needed service to our constituents.”

“We accumulate so much paper and documents over the years, and it can be so challenging to dispose of them in a safe and secure way,” Pheffer Amato said. “I’m happy to partner with Senator Addabbo, St. Camillus and USA Shred to bring this invaluable resource to our community and make sure that we are protecting our most sensitive information.”

There is a limit of three (3) boxes per person during the event to ensure that everyone who arrives has the ability to shred their paper.

Cardboard, magazines, file folders, and pre-shredded paper will not be accepted during this event.

All COVID-19 safety measures such as masks and social distancing will be in place for the safety of staff, volunteers and participants.
