Pheffer Amato Promotes COVID 19 Testing in Rockaway

Rockaway Park, Queens – This past week Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato (D Rockaway Park) promoted free COVID 19 testing at the Ferry Terminal located at Beach 108th Street in Rockaway Park, Queens. The testing was sponsored by the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation (NYC Health+Hospitals). Pheffer Amato volunteered in support of the site by giving out flyers informing and encouraging residents to get tested.

“Since March, I’ve advocated for additional COVID testing in South Queens specifically Rockaway due to our geographic isolation from the rest of the city and lack of public transit options,” Pheffer Amato said. “I am happy to report that NYC Health and Hospitals stepped up to the plate to provide this vital resource for my constituents and encourage those who are experiencing symptoms to get tested.”

NYC Health + Hospitals will offer additional testing at the site this week and has two additional sites on the Rockaway Peninsula for COVID 19 testing: The first is located at 39 20 Rockaway Beach Boulevard in Far Rockaway. The second is located at the Sorrentino Recreation Center, 18 48 Cornaga Avenue in Far Rockaway. Both sites are open Monday – Sunday, 9 a.m. – 7 p.m., no appointments necessary.
