Pheffer Amato Distributes Homemade Masks from Civic

Rockaway Beach, New York – Recently, Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato (D-Rockaway Beach), has begun distributing homemade face coverings from her office made by Rockaway Civic Association President Noreen Ellis. Pheffer Amato has been distributing the masks by phone or email request to help protect our community from spreading COVID-19.

“As always this community steps up during a crisis, and this was no exception,” Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato said. “Wearing a mask is the most simple and straightforward way to protect ourselves and our community from spreading COVID-19. I am grateful for Noreen’s efforts to help our neighbors because masks have become an expensive commodity.

To request a homemade mask, individuals can email, amatos@nyassembly.gov or by calling Pheffer Amato’s District Office at 718-945-9550. Please note, that there is a limited supply of masks and that they are intended to go to individuals who cannot otherwise obtain one.

As of April 15th, face coverings and masks in public and in instances where social distancing cannot be maintained are mandatory by an Executive Order signed by New York State Governor Andrew M. Cuomo.
