Assemblyman Colton Participates in Food Giveaway at Marlboro Houses
Assemblyman William Colton (D—Gravesend, Bensonhurst, Bath Beach and Dyker Heights) and staff members joined with leaders of the Marlboro Residents Association in a food giveaway on Friday, October 18 that drew approximately 150 families living in the complex.
The foodstuffs were donated by the Pakistani American Youth Organization (PAYO), a non-profit organization that runs a food pantry, with seasonal pumpkins provided by UA3, a non-profit group that’s focused on channeling a variety of resources to underserved residents of New York City.
“I was delighted to participate in this worthwhile endeavor,” said Assemblyman Colton. “With money tight for many people, making sure that people in the community have the food they need is extremely important. The efforts of the Marlboro Residents Association, and the contributions of such worthy organizations as PAYO and UA3, should be lauded. Events such as this one are critical as we work to make sure that our neighbors have what they need, not just to survive but to thrive.”
