As the conflict in Israel continues, thousands of Americans are now desperate to come home. Yet air travel is severely restricted and flights have been cancelled at an alarming rate.

In response, the offices of Representatives Dan Goldman and Yvette Clarke, along with Assemblyman Simcha Eichenstein, have joined forces in calling upon the U.S. Department of State to take any and all necessary action to immediately bring home U.S. citizens.

“As elected officials, we feel responsible for the safety and security of those living in our districts and we strongly feel that this should be a top priority for the Department of State,” the members wrote.

In the letter they further urge U.S. Secretary of State Blinken to “take immediate action to assist American citizens wishing to leave Israel while the war continues, either by ensuring the availability of commercial air travel or with any possible government resources.”

Over the last two days, the offices of Congressman Goldman and Congresswoman Clarke have been assisting constituents with family members desperately trying to fly back from Israel, out of the district office of Assemblyman Simcha Eichenstein. Hundreds of constituents have been reaching out for assistance.
