Smullen: New Yorkers Feel Neglected and Are Fleeing The State to Secure Their Futures

A Statement from Assemblyman Robert Smullen (R,C-Mohawk Valley and the Adirondacks)

“With delay after delay, New Yorkers are understandably feeling the financial pressure a late state budget carries with it. All of the mystery surrounding the budget is not sitting well with New York families considering its egregious size and Albany Majority lawmakers knack for ‘raising revenue’ to dig our state out of economic trouble. Raising revenue will do nothing but raise taxes that hardworking New Yorkers will be forced to pay—yet another reason New York’s domestic outmigration is among the highest in the nation. Our constituents have a right to know where the budget stands and what’s in store for their wallets. Until we take a closer look at other states’ economic standings—states like Texas and Florida that lead in job opportunities and economic outlook—New York will find itself in the same financial predicament year after year.”
