Middletown, NY – Assembly Member Paula Elaine Kay (D-Rock Hill) will join Middletown Mayor Joe DeStefano outside the historic Paramount Theatre on Thursday, July 10 at 11:30 a.m. to announce $50,000 in secured state funding for the venue. The grant, administered by the New York State Council on the Arts, marks a significant investment in the cultural and economic life of the region.
“This funding helps ensure that the Paramount remains a vibrant and vital part of downtown Middletown,” said Assembly Member Kay. “The theatre is more than just a beautiful building—it’s a driver of local pride, creativity, and economic activity, and I’m proud to help support its future.”
“The Paramount Theatre has been a cornerstone of Middletown’s identity for nearly a century,” said Mayor Joe DeStefano. “With this funding, we can continue to build on our progress and preserve this cultural treasure for generations to come.”
The event will take place on the South Street side of the theatre and is open to members of the press, the arts community, and the general public. Attendees will hear from local leaders about the Paramount’s impact on the region and what this new investment will mean for the future.
