Rozic: MetroCard Mobile Sales Coming to Fresh Meadows

Queens, NY – Today, Assemblywoman Nily Rozic (D,WF-Fresh Meadows) announced that MTA Mobile Sales Vans will be coming to Fresh Meadows in September. The Mobile Sales Vans will be in the Fresh Meadows Shopping Center located at Horace Harding Expressway and 188th Street on Monday, September 14 and Monday, September 28 from 1:00 to 2:30PM.

“It is oftentimes difficult for residents to access MTA services,” said Assemblywoman Rozic, whose district does not include a single subway or train station. “That is why I am bringing the MetroCard Mobile Van to the neighborhood to make it more convenient for commuters to talk with a trained representative about their concerns and questions.”

Services offered include applying for the Reduced Fare Program; purchasing and refilling MetroCards; exchanging damaged reduced-fare MetroCards for a temporary replacement and reporting a lost/stolen reduced-fare MetroCard. For seniors or people with disabilities applying for the Reduced Fare Program, please bring any of the following proof of age documents: birth certificate, driver’s license, Medicare card, valid state ID or passport.

Rozic added, “Now that the MTA has resumed collecting bus fares, Mobile Sales Vans will ease some of the challenges that come along with relying solely on buses to get around Queens.”

Those stopping by to purchase a MetroCard must wear a face covering and maintain a safe physical distance. For more information visit the MTA’s Reduced Fare Program at https://new.mta.info/fares-and-tolls/subway-bus-and-staten-island-railway/reduced-fare-metrocard
