Slater Celebrates Korean War Veterans

Assemblyman Matt Slater (R,C-Yorktown) joined his colleagues and honorable Korean War Veterans, including Yorktown's own Don and Susan King, in commemorating the remarkable valor displayed throughout three years of conflict. Korean War Veterans like Mr. King fought tirelessly, far from home, to protect a nation they had never known and people they had never met. The Korean War claimed the lives of over 35,000 U.S. Service members. Today served as a reminder of their sacrifice, honoring those who fought for freedom 60 years ago and the brave men and women who continue to uphold it today.

“It was an honor and privilege to stand with the selfless individuals who took on the ultimate sacrifice of protecting and serving. Their stories and commitment should never go unnoticed and I look forward to hosting more events to show our immense gratitude,” said Slater.
