Walsh: The Budget is in … But it Isn’t Pretty

A Statement By Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh (R,C-Ballston)

“At long last, New York has a state budget, but it comes at a price—and a big one at that. Not only is this budget the largest in New York’s history at nearly $230 billion, it is the second largest in the country, yet the issues New Yorkers care about continue to be avoided. While some critical issues saw victories—expanded free school meals, childcare assistance programs and much-needed modifications to bail reform were included—the overall budget fails to bring New York toward fiscal stability, affordability and a place where people want to stay.”
