Walsh Collects a Record 74 Pallets of Electronics at Final Spring-Cleaning Event

Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh (R,C-Ballston) partnered with Glenville business EWASTE+ for an electronic recycling event this past Saturday, April 22, at the Town of Halfmoon Transfer Station. This event was the last of three drive-thru style Spring Cleaning Events being held for residents of the 112th Assembly District. The free event allowed residents to safely dispose of their old and unneeded electronics.

“This final spring cleaning event was a huge success—we collected 74 pallets of televisions, computers, keyboards, radios and more, all estimated to be three times the weight of previous collection amounts. Thank you to EWASTE+ for your continued support and partnership. A big thank you also to Highway Superintendent Bill Bryans, Supervisor Kevin Tollisen and the Town of Halfmoon for hosting, and for their hands-on work in making this event such a success,” Walsh said.

“Our electronic recycling event coincided with Earth Day this year, a reminder that even when you are cleaning out your space and getting rid of unwanted and unneeded items, you can do so in an environmentally responsible way. It’s clear from the overwhelming response that this was a sorely needed opportunity for our residents. I want to give a final thank you to every resident who participated in my 2023 spring cleaning series, all of you have helped to keep the 112th Assembly District safe and clean, and I’m excited for an even bigger turnout next year,” concluded Walsh.
