Blankenbush Congratulates the Village of Lowville on $10 Million Grant Approval

Assemblyman Ken Blankenbush (R,C-Black River) congratulates the Village of Lowville on a $10 million grant award from the Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) and NY Forward program. Gov. Hochul announced in a recent press release Lowville is one of ten regions that made it through Round 7 of the application process for a total commitment of $100 million for economic development and community improvements throughout New York.

Lowville’s proposal, "RESTORE REDISCOVER CONNECT,” is a transformative plan to reshape its downtown area. The plan includes forming a regional center for business and culture, preserving the village’s environmental habitat, enhancing residents’ quality of life and investing $300,000 in planning funds for downtown revitalization.

“This is a big win for residents of Lowville. It's well deserved for them to now have financial backing to invest in their future. The village has a beauty of its own and its past due for the rest of the state to recognize its Northern charms,” said Blankenbush.
