Brabenec Statement on NYC Migrants Moving to Hudson Valley

“New York City has long proclaimed itself a ‘sanctuary city,’ but it continually fails to live up to those standards. And now, when it finds itself too overwhelmed, it repeats the habits it decried months earlier – sending buses to areas that do not have the means or desire to host large groups of migrants. Rockland and Orange counties should not be saddled with New York City’s burdens, and the city should not have unilateral power in deciding who across this state has to pick up its slack.”
