Statement from Assemblyman Josh Jensen (R,C-Greece) Minority Ranker of The Health Committee on The 2026 Health/Medicaid Budget Hearing

“Today I sat alongside my colleagues, the NYS Department of Health, NYS Department of Financial Services, advocates, hospitals and stakeholders to speak about issues that affect all New Yorkers. As we review the 2026 health budget, my responsibility is clear, and that is to be your voice here in Albany on the issues that matter most to you.

“I brought up the questions and concerns I hear most often from constituents around my district. These include bringing down health care costs, increasing access to providers and ensuring Medicaid dollars are spent effectively and efficiently.

“Health care is a topic that is hard to navigate, and it is my job to help New Yorkers understand this issue that affects us all on a personal level. Today was the start of a conversation that will outline the course of where your hard-earned tax dollars are going. As the legislature continues I will make sure to prioritize the issues that matter most to the people I serve.”
