Assembly Minority Leader Ra Addresses Critical Affordability Issues During General Budget Conference Committee Meeting

Today in Albany, Assembly Minority Leader Ed Ra (R-Franklin Square) joined leaders of the Senate and Assembly to discuss the 2027-28 state budget during the General Budget Conference Committee meeting.

Ra emphasized the responsibility legislators have during the final phase of budget negotiations to ease the burden on New Yorkers during one of the worst affordability crises in the nation. One way to accomplish, he said, is by implementing an all-of-the-above energy strategy.

New York State is facing billion-dollar deficits, unsustainable debt, and the loss of more than 1.1 million residents while its business climate ranks dead last.

Ra expressed hope that the final budget will reflect a commitment to affordability, fiscal responsibility and a stronger future for New York.
