Friend Condemns AG Tish James’ Politically Charged NRA Lawsuit

Assemblyman Christopher S. Friend (R,C,I-Big Flats) is slamming NYS Attorney General Leticia James for her politically charged lawsuit against the National Rifle Association (NRA). Her aim is to dismantle one of the leading advocacy groups protecting Second Amendment rights and firearms education and safety. The assemblyman is calling the attorney general’s efforts a misuse of taxpayer dollars to try to mount this case against the association.

“The attorney general’s lawsuit against the NRA is a shameful political ploy, costing taxpayer dollars and going after an organization which has done so much to protect the Second Amendment rights of all law-abiding citizens. It’s not enough that there is the governor’s ‘un-SAFE Act’ in place, Attorney General Tish James now wants to inappropriately flex government power to intimidate those who value their rights and liberties. She should abandon this effort now.”

The attorney general addresses alleged civil violations and is using it as a fishing expedition. Friend affirms that this is an intimidation tactic against those who support the Second Amendment.
