Upstate Champion Tague Cheers Whole Milk Act Passage

Longtime champion for astute dairy Assemblyman Chris Tague (R,C-Schoharie) lauded the U.S. House of Representatives’ passage of the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act (S.222), a bipartisan bill that allows public schools participating in the National School Lunch Program to once again offer unflavored or flavored whole and 2% reduced-fat milk options to students.

“I am incredibly proud and grateful for the tireless leadership of House Agriculture Committee Chairman Congressman Glenn Thompson and our own New York powerhouse, Congresswoman and Chair Elise Stefanik. Their commitment made this victory possible,” said Tague.

“We need to acknowledge our local warriors, Anne Diefendorf, Duane Spaulding and Jay Hoyt, and thank every member of Congress and supporters who fought alongside us for years to get this done. Today is a tremendous day for our children’s nutrition and the hardworking dairy farmers who feed our nation.”
