Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara Hosts 2026 Autism Action Day at the New York State Capitol

Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara, Chair of the New York State Assembly Committee on People with Disabilities, will host 2026 Autism Action Day at the Legislative Office Building on Wednesday, April 22nd, 2026, in recognition of Autism Acceptance Month. This annual event brings together advocates, families, and organizations from across New York to support autism acceptance and legislative action.

During the event, Assemblyman Santabarbara will unveil a new legislative package aimed at expanding services, improving access to resources, and increasing opportunities for individuals with autism and their families.

This year’s program will also feature Willow Baer, Commissioner of the NYS Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), and the NY Phoenix Basketball Team will be honored with the 2026 Autism Action Award for its contributions to inclusion and accessibility.
