Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara Statement on GE Vernova’s $41 Million Investment in Schenectady

Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara today issued the following statement on GE Vernova’s announcement that it will invest $41 million into its Schenectady facility, creating 50 new high-tech, union jobs:

“This is another big win for Schenectady and the Capital Region. GE Vernova’s $41 million investment will not only modernize operations here at home, it will also bring 50 new union jobs to our community – jobs that support families and strengthen our local economy. For generations, Schenectady has been at the heart of innovation and manufacturing, and this expansion builds on that proud tradition.

I’ve worked hard to advocate for investments like this because I know what they mean for our families, our workforce, and our future. Whether it’s making sure our community has the infrastructure and workforce training in place or fighting for policies that make Upstate New York attractive for these kinds of commitments, my focus has always been on delivering results for the people I represent.

This is proof that our community’s comeback story is still being written. I look forward to seeing these new jobs take root and to continuing the fight for more opportunities like this for Schenectady and the entire Capital Region.”
