Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara to Host Community Information Session on Tick-Borne Illness Prevention

As summer gets underway and more New Yorkers head outdoors, Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara is inviting residents and members of the press to attend an upcoming Community Information Session focused on tick safety, prevention, and awareness. With New York State consistently ranking among the highest in reported cases of Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses, this timely event offers essential information to help families stay safe.

The event will take place:

  • Monday, June 30th
  • 6:00 PM
  • The Stockade Inn, 1 North Church Street, Schenectady, NY

The session will feature a Community IPM Extension Support Specialist from the Cornell Integrated Pest Management Program who will share:

  • The latest prevention and treatment options
  • What to do in the event of a tick bite
  • Tips for reducing exposure while enjoying outdoor activities
