Assemblywoman Alicia L. Hyndman Celebrates Record-Breaking Turkey & Christmas Tree Giveaway

Queens, NY – Assemblywoman Alicia L. Hyndman proudly announced the success of her annual Turkey and Christmas Tree Giveaway, held November 24th at 5 p.m.

This year’s event drew an extraordinary turnout, with constituents lining up well before distribution began. Thanks to strengthened community partnerships, her office distributed a record number of turkeys and fixings along with holiday trees, helping families in need across the district.

“The turnout shows just how great the need is in our community,” Assemblywoman Hyndman added. “I am deeply thankful to our partners and volunteers who help us meet that need with dignity and care. Ensuring our families have what they needed for holidays is one of the most meaningful parts of this job, and I am committed to continuing this tradition for years to come.”

The event’s success was made possible through Resorts World, Showing Hearts, 100 Suits, the New York City District Council of Carpenters, Lime, JFKIAT, Neighborhood Housing Services of Jamaica, St. Peter’s Church and American Legion Post 483. Assemblywoman Hyndman also thanks volunteers and partners who contributed to making the day possible.

“Our team worked together to move the line quickly and respectfully,” she said. "We understand the challenges the families face, and it is important that everyone feels cared for throughout the process.”

The giveaway was part of Assemblywoman Hyndman’s ongoing efforts to support families across Southeast Queens through food security initiatives, community programming, and year-round constituent services.
