Tim Gordon

Dear Neighbor:

Welcome to my Assembly Web site. Here you will find important information and the latest news from the state Capitol and what it means to you and your family.

Since 2007, I have represented in the Assembly the people of the 108th District which includes parts of Rensselaer, Albany, Columbia and Greene counties.

One of my top priorities in the Assembly has been to reduce the tax burden on working families and businesses here in New York. It’s become clear that we cannot continue to have property taxes that are based solely on home values instead of a person’s ability to pay, and I’m fighting to change that.

In light of these tough economic times we must reign in state spending, starting with a comprehensive review of all state programs and agencies to ensure they are running as effectively and efficiently as possible. We must also finally put some accountability in the hundreds of public authorities that operate with little or no oversight.

Another priority of mine is making New York State more energy independent and advancing us to the forefront of renewable energy technology. Forward-thinking energy programs will help move our state toward a cleaner, brighter future and help create "green jobs."

Central to these goals is ensuring our children get a quality education. I remain committed to investing in the future of our children so that they will be prepared with all of the tools necessary to succeed in the 21st Century.

For more information on these issues and more, I encourage you to browse this site. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,
Timothy P. Gordon
Member of Assembly

Assemblyman Gordon responds to Governor Paterson's State of the State address, saying that the Governor and Legislature need to stop political finger pointing and lead by example to limit spending, just as many families across the state have already done. Gordon also continued his call for state and local governments to save money by taking measures towards becoming more energy efficient.
