TITLE OF BILL:
 
An act to amend the real property actions and proceedings law, in
relation to making a technical change to a provision requiring a peti-
tion in a summary proceeding to recover possession of real property in
the city of Syracuse to allege proof of compliance with local laws
 
 
PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL:
 
The purpose of this bill is to 'amend Chapter 544 of the laws of 2023 to
effectuate the intent of the law.
 
 
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:

Section 1 amends real property actions and proceedings law § 741 by
renumbering subdivision 7 to subdivision 8.
 
Section 2 establishes the effective date.
 
 
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ORIGINAL AND AMENDED VERSION (IF APPLICABLE):
 
 
JUSTIFICATION:
 
This bill makes a technical change to a chapter of the laws of 2023 to
renumber a subdivision to avoid confusion• with another section of law.

        AN ACT to amend the  real  property  actions  and  proceedings  law,  in
          relation to making a technical change to a provision requiring a peti-
          tion in a summary proceeding to recover possession of real property in
          the city of Syracuse to allege proof of compliance with local laws

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Subdivision 7 of section 741 of the real  property  actions
     2  and  proceedings law, as added by a chapter of the laws of 2023 amending
     3  the real property actions and proceedings law relating  to  requiring  a
     4  petition  in a summary proceeding to recover possession of real property
     5  in the city of Syracuse to allege proof of compliance  with  local  laws
     6  requiring  rental  residential  property  registration and licensure, as
     7  proposed in legislative bills numbers S. 3497 and A. 3110, is amended to
     8  read as follows:
     9    [7.] 8. In the city of Syracuse, where the premises from which removal
    10  is sought is subject to a local law requiring the registration  of  said
    11  premises as a condition of legal rental, allege proof of compliance with
    12  such local law.
    13    §  2.  This  act  shall  take  effect on the same date and in the same
    14  manner as a chapter of the laws  of  2023  amending  the  real  property
    15  actions and proceedings law relating to requiring a petition in a summa-
    16  ry  proceeding  to  recover  possession  of real property in the city of
    17  Syracuse to allege proof of compliance with local laws requiring  rental
    18  residential property registration and licensure, as proposed in legisla-
    19  tive bills numbers S. 3497 and A. 3110, takes effect.
