   LEGISLATIVE ACTION

The Legislature provides a total of $8,190,000 in additional Academic Year 
funding to the City University of New York (CUNY). Additional Academic Year 
funding of $2,740,000 for Community College base aid will support a base aid 
level of $2,300. This reflects an increase of $50 per full-time equivalent 
student. 

In addition, the Legislature provides $1,060,000 in Academic Year funding for 
new faculty lines at the senior colleges and an additional $1,436,000 for the 
operation of child care centers in order to serve student-parents and their 
children.  The additional funding for child care centers is provided through 
the federal Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) Block Grant. The 
Legislature also provides an additional $2,760,000 for the Search for 
Education, Elevation and Knowledge (SEEK) Program and $190,000 for College 
Discovery.

The Legislature provides an increase of $8,700,000 to the City University 
Income Reimbursable Account to support student financial aid activities at 
CUNY Senior Colleges.

Article VII

The Legislature provides for the transfer of $8,700,000 from the Miscellaneous 
Special Revenue Fund (339) Insurance Premium Payment Account (85) to the City 
University Income Reimbursable Account to support student financial aid 
activities at CUNY Senior Colleges.
