Statement From Assembly Minority Leader Brian M. Kolb (R,C,I,Ref-Canandaigua)

"The jury in the Joe Percoco case has finally spoken. Now it's time for the governor to do the same.

For eight weeks, federal prosecutors detailed the troubling behavior and questionable approach of this administration. It is abundantly clear that New York State is not working for the people. It is working for the politically connected and those who can afford a lofty price of admission.

Albany's golden age of corruption is not ending anytime soon. Criminal activity has infected every branch of government, the state's highest offices and most powerful public officials.

Sadly, the culture of corruption is so deeply embedded into the fabric of Albany many observers can hardly tell one trial, one charge, one scheme from the next. If elected officials are serious about preserving the institution of state government, we must take immediate and decisive steps to combat the rampant abuse of the public's trust and money."
