Assembly Minority Leader Brian Kolb Calls On Sheldon Silver To Resign As Speaker
"It is imperative Sheldon Silver step down immediately as Speaker of the Assembly.
As I said in December when allegations surfaced - these are disturbing charges and the Speaker needed to provide full explanation before the start of the 2015 session.
His resignation as Speaker is in the best interest of the Assembly, of the State, and the best way for us to conduct the business that we are elected to do.
We cannot afford this distraction with the important business before the Assembly and the people of New York State."
