NYS Assembly Minority Leader Brian Kolb Highlights
Important Issues To Address During Budget Negotiations

New York State Assembly Minority Leader Brian M. Kolb (R,C,I-Canandaigua) is pictured (right) during the General Budget Conference Committee Meeting on Monday, March 17 in Albany. Leader Kolb highlighted important topics that need to be addressed in upcoming discussions about the 2014-2015 State Budget.

Leader Kolb identified the need to address implementation of the Common Core Standards, as well as restoring Gap Elimination Adjustment (GEA) aid for school districts across the state. He called for immediate mandate relief to help reduce the costs facing local municipalities and urged leaders to consider all of New York State in policy development - not merely an agenda that favors New York City. Leader Kolb stressed the need to allocate funding for local road and highway projects and maintain a commitment to protect library aid for communities. Additionally, he spoke about the need to improve New York's unfriendly business climate with a renewed focus on creating jobs while eliminating costly burdens facing small businesses.
