Montesano Calls Cuomo Out on Losing Focus on COVID-19

A Statement from Assemblyman Michael Montesano (R,C,I,LBT-Glen Head)

“What Gov. Cuomo should be focusing on is figuring out a vaccine program which actually works in order for New Yorkers to get the COVID-19 vaccine sooner, rather than later. Instead, he is very much all talk and no action. Most of his talk is about shoving things, such as the legalization of marijuana and sports betting, into the state’s budget, where neither piece of legislation has any business of being. Things like this deserve their own stand-alone bills to be debated on and to give New Yorkers some government transparency. Additionally, three-to-four years ago, the governor called marijuana a gateway drug, yet now he is pushing for it because he needs money to make up for the enormous budget deficit that he caused. He needs to stop spreading himself so thin and focus on what matters most: fighting COVID-19.”
