Every year, Gov. Cuomo and the Assembly Majority sneak in policy-related issues or demand they be added to the budget, usually last minute and late at night. I fear that this year will be no different and am outraged another blatant attempt could happen to take advantage of a public health crisis. They should not be using a declared national emergency by the president to get their political wish list fulfilled. We should be focusing solely on passing a budget to keep New York up and running during this difficult time. We can come back to debate and vote on other policies and proposals at a later and safer date. Keeping New York afloat during this crisis should be our top priority first and foremost.
