TITLE OF BILL:
An act authorizing the Ministerio Sion New York, Inc. to retroactively
apply for a real property tax exemption for certain property
 
PURPOSE:
To grant a retroactive property tax exemption for the assessment roll
for all the 2022-2023 school taxes and all the 2023 general taxes for
the parcel conveyed to such organization, Ministerio Sion New York,
located at 97 New Hyde Park Road in the hamlet of Franklin Square, town
of Hempstead, county of Nassau.
 
SUMMARY:
Section 1. Sets forth the authorization of Nassau County to accept the
real property tax exemption for certain property from Ministerio Sion
New York, Inc.
Section 2. Sets the effective date.
 
JUSTIFICATION:
The Ministerio Internacional Sion New York is a not-for-profit, tax-ex-
empt religious organization. Allowing the organization to be forgiven of
these property tax bills will allow them to continue their work in the
community and keep their place of worship. This legislation would alloW
for the Nassau County Assessor to accept an application for a retroac-
tive property tax exemption for the Ministerio Internacional Sion New
York and therefore would relieve the current fiscal burden on this
organization.
