Brian Kolb Has a Plan to Help Families Keep More Money in Their Pockets and Again Afford to Call the Finger Lakes and Central New York Home.

By scaling back on needless bureaucracy and capping property taxes, government can allow families to keep more of their hard-earned money. With more money in their pockets, families can again afford to live and work in the Finger Lakes and Central New York regions.”

Brian Kolb understands that families in the Finger Lakes and Central New York can’t afford to pay any more in property tax bills. That’s why he is sponsoring the following legislation:

The Working Families Property Tax Relief Act:
  • CAP RESIDENT PROPERTY TAXES on people earning $100,000 a year or less.

  • HOLDS HARMLESS MUNICIPALITIES and special districts for any loss of revenue.

The Property Taxpayers Protection Act:
  • CAP PROPERTY TAXES at 4 percent or the rate of inflation, whichever is lower.

  • ELIMINATE EXCESSIVE UNFUNDED MANDATES that force local communities and schools to increase property taxes.

  • DECREASE COUNTY MEDICAID COSTS by requiring the state, not local governments, pay for non-essential medical services.

  • COMBAT MEDICAID FRAUD by assisting local governments to acquire technology that enables them to crack down on fraud.
