NYS Seal

Dear Friend,

New York is rich in the resources necessary to create a wonderful place to live and work. However, many small businesses are hurt by rising taxes and operating costs. That is why I support business-friendly initiatives and work to strengthen our economy.

Listed here are some of the legislative initiatives I’ve supported in the past that I believe will help create and retain jobs here while strengthening the Finger Lakes economy.

Send along concerns by calling my office at 781-2030, or e-mail me at kolbb@assembly.state.ny.us.

In Manchester, Assemblyman Kolb:
  • Recently held a town hall-style meeting to be easily accessible to residents and town officials, and to discuss issues of concern with residents. Kolb outlined his accomplishments and vowed to continue his work on behalf of Manchester’s residents.

  • Continues to focus on the importance and needs of Manchester’s emergency service providers, first responders and community organizations by securing assistance to buy much-needed equipment for local fire departments.

  • Supported creation of a property tax rebate providing homeowners with meaningful tax relief. This rebate applies to homeowners who receive a STAR exemption, who can expect a rebate check worth 30% of their STAR benefit. The statewide property tax savings total an estimated $920 million.

Small-business Initiatives:

  • Assemblyman Kolb supports small businesses through his efforts to increase funding for the Main Street revitalization program, provide tax credits for small businesses to train employees, require at least 15 percent of state contracts be with small businesses (100 or fewer employees) and reinstate the 1 percent lower tax rate.

  • Assemblyman Kolb has sponsored legislation to reform workers’ compensation and to provide affordable health care for businesses and their employees.
