Finch Announces Incentives for Needy Residents Assemblyman Gary D. Finch (R,C-Springport) today announced a new opportunity for low-income seniors and disabled individuals who receive food stamps or use the new Medicare prescription drug discount card: they may be eligible for a boost in their Food Stamp Program benefits. "Too often our elderly and disabled go without the proper amount of food, or with no food at all. This is just one of many government-sponsored programs that will help our residents lead a better quality of life," Assemblyman Finch said. The program has no application deadline; however, those who apply by Dec. 31 would receive the highest Medicare deduction for the longest period. Finch concluded, "This is a wonderful program, and I encourage all those who are eligible or think they may be eligible to apply."
