As your representative in the Assembly, my priority has always been to fight for the needs of Rockland seniors, especially in these difficult financial times for our state and our families.

I am pleased that in passing an on-time state budget this year, we were able to protect many essential senior programs destined for deeper cuts. We successfully restored much funding for services like elder abuse prevention, Meals-on-Wheels, senior centers, long term care assistance, kinship programs, and many Office of the Aging senior hotlines.

We also managed to reverse some of the Governor’s debilitating cuts to the EPIC drug coverage program, making sure the most at-risk seniors won’t be forced to go without prescriptions.

Moving forward, I also remain firmly committed to enacting real property tax reform and relief that will lower senior homeowners’ bills while protecting the equity in their home.
