Assemblyman McKevitt Encourages Seniors to Apply for EPIC
Save Money on Prescription Drugs:
The Elderly Pharmaceutical Insurance Coverage
(EPIC) program is the leading program in the nation in
helping seniors pay for prescription drugs If you’re a New York state resident 65 or older with
an annual income of $35,000 or less if single, and $50,000 or less
for couples, and not receiving full Medicaid benefits, you may be
eligible for EPIC Enrollees pay an annual fee or meet an annual
deductible, then pay only a co-payment for each
prescription. Nearly all prescription drugs are covered,
both brand name and generic As a part of RESTORE NY, Assemblyman Tom McKevitt proposes
the creation of EPIC Extra. Under his plan, every senior with an
income less than $60,000 can claim an annual income tax deduction
of up to $1,000 to help further reduce the cost of prescription
drugs.
