Suffolk County residents pay some of the highest energy prices in the nation. At a time when escalating energy costs seem to have no limit, we need to ensure LIPA is acting in the best interests of ratepayers. I've called for outside audits of LIPA and fought to enforce the state's procurement law - ensuring all of LIPA's contracts are put out to bid. I've also worked to pass a measure to prevent LIPA from imposing backdoor rate hikes without approval from the Public Service Commission.
