Malliotakis: Tuition Assistance Should Not Be Extended To Illegal Immigrants
Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis released the following statement in response to introduction of Assembly bill 10807 this past weekend:
August 20, 2012
While families in New York struggle to put their children through college, any attempt to divert tuition assistance to illegal immigrants would be ill-conceived. There are countless students born and raised in the United States, as well as hardworking immigrant families that are legally-registered Americans, who need and deserve all the help we can afford them in obtaining a higher education. In a time of fiscal turmoil when education funding is scarce, these Americans must be our priority. To take taxpayer resources away from American citizens to give to illegal aliens is plain wrong.
