Kingston – Assemblyman Kevin Cahill (D – Ulster/Dutchess) issued the following statement regarding the Assembly’s efforts to spur the local economy and top priorities for future growth:
“I am proud of the good work the Assembly has done to revive our economy and spur sustainable development here in the Hudson Valley. From available low cost power through the revamped Recharge New York program to our continued focus on centerpiece developments like the Clearwater Home Port project on the Rondout, my initiatives are intended to make New York and our communities good places to live, work and raise our families.
“When we return to Albany, that work has to continue by making our tax burden lower and more fair. A new focus on making public education great again and once and for all dealing with the utterly unfair system of real property taxation can allow our efforts so far to take hold as the basis of a solid local economy.”
