Errigo: New AG Must Be Free From Cuomo Influence
Assemblyman Joseph A. Errigo (R,C,I,Ref-Conesus) weighed in on the appointment of Barbara Underwood as the new attorney general today by a joint session of the state Legislature. Ms. Underwood has served as solicitor general since 2011.
“While we have taken the appropriate steps to replace Eric Schneiderman, we can only hope Ms. Underwood will free herself from the grip of Gov. Cuomo’s influence and be an independent, non-partisan Attorney General,” said Errigo. “For years we’ve seen Gov. Cuomo manipulate everyone from politicians to donors and his web of criminal activity has only continued to grow. We need an attorney general who’s focused on the law and not on making headlines covering for Cuomo and bickering with Trump.”
