"The issue is, that your need to make sure that you ensure the safety of your workers because as you have the right to come home to your families, celebrate milestones, and spend time with them, the construction workers and any other folks who are affected in this industry have that same right too," said Assembly Member  Pichardo as he explained his vote for bill A2966B which seeks to protect workers from employers and supervisors that negligently fail to comply with safety protocols by amending the penal code to created new offenses and substantially increases the fines that can be imposed upon a corporate defendant convicted of certain crimes.
