Grants For The Arts Awarded In 139th Assembly District

Nearly $135,000 has been awarded to local arts organizations throughout the 139th Assembly District by the New York State Council on the Arts, Assemblyman Steve Hawley (R,I,C-Batavia) announced today.

The funding comes as part of the Council on the Arts’ Local Assistance Grant Program that provides opportunities for the public to participate in arts events and community celebrations throughout the state.

The Genesee-Orleans Regional Arts Council has been awarded nearly $130,000 while the LeRoy Historical Society is set to receive $5,000.

“The arts are a very important part of community identity and our children’s education,” said Hawley. “This funding will benefit the advancement of arts programs in our region while providing new forums for local artists to display their wonderful talents.”
