Assembly Must Follow Senate’s Lead, Pass WEA

A statement issued by Assemblyman Christopher Friend (R,C, I – Big Flats)

Today, I joined my colleagues in the Assembly Minority in calling on Speaker Silver and the Assembly Majority to have an up-or-down vote on the eight individual women’s equality measures passed by the Senate yesterday. These eight vital reforms should not be held hostage for political games, or be forced into a larger, more controversial bill. The Senate knew women shouldn’t wait another day for these reforms. It’s high time the Speaker brings these bills to the floor. The women of New York deserve better than political posturing.
