Ra Reappointed As Ranking Minority Member Of The Education Committee

The 2015 Legislative Committee assignments were recently announced, and Assemblyman Ed Ra (R –Franklin Square) is proud to share that he has been reappointed as Ranking Minority Member of the Education Committee.

“I have been fortunate to serve on the Education Committee for my first two terms in the Assembly, and to have had the opportunity to work with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to improve education for New York’s students,” said Ra. “In order to ensure our teachers and students have the resources they need, I will continue to work this term to implement our comprehensive Achieving Pupil Preparedness and Launching Excellence (APPLE) Plan. This thoroughly crafted proposal would return local control to our schools, work to retire the gap elimination adjustment and reform the Board of Regents. It has been an honor to be the Ranking Minority Member of this committee, and I look forward to making a difference in our state’s education system, as well as other areas that are in need of improvement.”

Ra also has been appointed as a new member of the Transportation Committee and will continue to serve on the Higher Education, Health and Codes committees.
