Assemblyman McKevitt to Sponsor Car Seat Safety Event
October 5, 2009
Assemblyman Thomas McKevitt (R,C,I - East Meadow) will be sponsoring a car seat safety event on Friday, October 23, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Village Parking Field 6E in Garden City. Certified instructors will be on hand to assist parents with all they need to know about their car seats, including proper installation and care.
Appointments are necessary, so area residents who are interested in this free service should call Assemblyman McKevitt’s office at 516-739-5119 to reserve a time slot. Parents must bring their car seat to the event.
“As the father of a two-year-old child, I know how important car seat safety is, and anyone who drives with a young child has a responsibility to ensure his or her safety,” Assemblyman McKevitt said. “I hope that by providing this service to the community, we all can work together to ensure greater car safety and save lives.”
Village Parking Field 6E is located off of 7th Street, west of Franklin Avenue in Garden City. The event will be taking place in the rear of the lot, on the far side of the railroad tracks.
