Assemblyman McKevitt Honors All Who Served

December 5, 2007
Assemblyman Tom McKevitt (R,I,C – East Meadow) is reminding us all to pay tribute to those who have fought to protect us and the ones we love. “Veterans have risked their lives to make sure that ours were held safe. Every November 11th, it is our duty to honor and show respect for the men and women who have fought for this great country,” McKevitt stated.

Veterans Day serves to focus on the amazing courage, accomplishments, and sacrifice of those who gave of themselves. “We, as a community, need to band together and support the troops that are fighting now and those who were in the armed forces previously.” These great men and women all shared a common goal in life and that was to preserve the peace and freedom of the country they love so much. November 11th is a special day to commemorate these freedom fighters that defend what we hold most dear to us and who struggled to protect this country.

“As a community leader, I understand how critical the need for peace and freedom is. These great men and women were there for us when we needed them the most, to protect the lives of our families and friends and to uphold our freedoms. It is my honor to reach out to these people and show my appreciation and admiration for the work that they have done for this nation.”
