PROGRAM INFORMATION
POPULATION SERVED: Adults
SERVICES PROVIDED: On-the-job training or internships, job search, counseling, skills retraining, entry-level skills training, pre-vocational skills training, literacy and English as a Second Language instruction, life skills instruction and assessment.
ADMINISTRATIVE AGENCY: Department of Labor
ELIGIBLE SERVICE PROVIDERS: The 33 service delivery areas in New York State who subcontract to providers of employment and training services, including community-based organizations, local education agencies, private employers, BOCES, and labor unions
SOURCE OF FUNDING: Federal
AUTHORIZATION: Federal Statute: Job Training Partnership Act, Title III, Part A (Public Law 97-300)
DESCRIPTION: Provides services and training to dislocated workers using federal formula funds distributed according to the State Worker Adjustment Act. The objectives of the program include the provision of services with 48 hours of notification of layoff and assistance in job placement.
