PROGRAM INFORMATION
POPULATION SERVED: In-school and out-of-school youth
SERVICES PROVIDED: On-the-job training or internships, job search, counseling, wage subsidy, stipend, pre-vocational skills training, literacy and English as a Second Language instruction, life skills instruction and transportation
ADMINISTRATIVE AGENCY: Department of Labor
ELIGIBLE SERVICE PROVIDERS: The 33 service delivery areas in New York State, who may then subcontract to providers of employment and training services, including community-based organizations, local education agencies, private employers and labor unions
SOURCE OF FUNDING: Federal
AUTHORIZATION: Federal Statute: Job Training Partnership Act, Title II, Part C (Public Law 97-300)
DESCRIPTION: Provides activities and services for youth ages 14-21, half of whom must be out-of-school.
